Program Presentation

The program Specialization in Personal Coaching presents an approach, regarding its human being’s vision, inspired on the Ontological, Systemic and Transformational vision. We consider Coaching as not only a methodology with practical tools or a modern expanding discipline, but a philosophy of life through which one can look at and interpret the human being and its possibilities for change, growth, development and improvement.

For that reason, we define Coaching as a reflective and creative accompanying process, offered to persons-clients, to achieve a concrete objective and inspiring them to maximize their personal and professional potential. In line with what is aforementioned, the mission of the Specialization in Personal Coaching is to train professionals on Coaching, through the consolidation and development of their competencies and abilities as a Coach, the deepening in the different useful and needed tools to be able to accompany and obtain improvements in the development, change and accompaniment processes that are carried out.

The Specialization in Personal Coaching aims to provide a much connected training with the professional context. The theoretical foundations of Coaching, its different scope of applications and methodological models, as a scheme that allows the deepening in the Coaching process. In addition to deepening in the tools that will be useful during the guidance and accompanying processes; in the Coach’s skills, in accordance with the International Coach Federation (ICF) standards; and Coaching’s practice, through accompanying sessions supervised by the teaching staff, tutors and coaches.

Who is the programme for?

As well, the Personal Coaching program is thought for Coaching professionals who want to complete and strengthen their training on the most updated and innovative methodologies in this discipline, as well as develop and strengthen their skills as a Coach, improve their capacity to lead, coordinate and guide other in their transformation processes, and extend their tool box as Coaching professionals.

It is also aimed at degrees in Psychology, Medicine, Nursery, Law, Psychopedagogy, Advertising or Business Administration and Management, Education or other similar degrees that want to gain skills in Coaching to use them at a personal and professional level, to learn improvement techniques of their abilities to manage, lead and inspire their collaborators to achieve new and better results.

Diploma

The successful completion of the Program will allow the student to obtain the degree of SPECIALIZATION IN PERSONAL COACHING, issued by the University where he or she has registered.

Objectives

General objective

  • Training professionals in the Coaching discipline, via the development of their skills and abilities as Coaches, the insight in the different useful and needed tools to be able to accompany and obtain improvement results in the development and accompanying processes, within the conceptual and methodological approaches that support Coaching for change, development and personal growth processes.

Specific objectives

  • Analyze and understand the Coach’s function and identity and the essential contribution it makes during the Coaching process.
  • Distinguish and apply the different models and approaches used to cope with the change processes.
  • Developing the adequate skills as a Coach, basing on the 11 key skills and the values boosted by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as to be a professional who complies with the adequate quality standards to be a Coach.
  • Use the linguistic tools (conversational model), the emotional tools (management of emotions) and body tools (non-verbal communication processes and techniques) that are useful in the Coaching processes
  • Managing coaching processes and adequately accompany (the) coachee(s) in the achievement of the desired objectives to be reached, both at a personal and professional level.

Subjects, despite being independent, are structured according to a consistent pedagogical order. Each subject is divided into basic thematic units or chapters. A printed version of the content is offered, so the student can successfully complete the various assessment tasks.

  • 2nd PART: COACHING IN ACTION: SUPERVISED COACHING PROCESS (100 HOURS)

In the case of the Specialization, Postgraduate or Expert program, the last phase will be aimed at completing the 100% practical subject with 10 credits as working load, so that the student can practice the different tools, strategies and competencies taught in the program’s subjects, through different coaching processes that the students will need to take as coaches.
