The Ecuador headquarters of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) collaborates with the project “Sustainable beaches: Development of an integral solid waste management system and environmental management for the canton’s touristic beaches and their area of influence” financed by the European Union EU.
This projects aims to turn the beaches of the coast canton into a quality touristic destination basing on the integral waste management with the active participation of every agent in society, hence creating awareness and respect for the environment. For that purpose, diagnosis actions will take place that will allow the improvement of the sanitation infrastructures as well as implementing an integral waste management system, together with a citizens’ awareness plan involving both the community and the organizations, be they private or public.
Those who will be in charge of implementing such activities will be, on the one side, the decentralized autonomous government of the beaches’ canton -which is the beneficiary and, on the other side, the Ecuador and Spain headquarters of the Iberoamerican University Foundation, in other words, FUNIBER Spain and FUNIBER Ecuador.
