Program Presentation
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is one of the oldest forms of Eastern medicine developed in China throughout its ancient cultural evolution.
This millenary medicine includes different therapies, in which acupuncture and therapies with herbs and nutrition stand out the most. Such therapies are being considered not only as an important part of complementary and alternative medicine but also as reinforcement to conventional medicine.
This Master is a blended learning program developed in collaboration with the European Foundation for TCM. This training is based on online resources developed under the supervision of the TCM Universities of Beijing and Yunnan, and has workshops and classroom practice in approved institutions in different countries.
In the final part of the program, students can choose between writing a Final Project or taking the opportunity to travel to China or Cuba to undertake an internship at the hospital where TCM is practiced.
Note: The internship at a TCM hospital implies an added expense for travel and lodging.
Who is the programme for?
The Master's Degree in Biological-Naturopathic Studies specializing in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and Phytotherapy has as its recipients Certified / Graduates in Health Sciences who wish to:
- Inquire further into the prevention of disease.
- Apply Biological-Naturopathic Medicine practices in the treatment of illnesses
- Develop the study of disease from a more holistic point of view.
- Have at their disposal more working tools in their professional practice.
Note: Those students without a university degree in health sciences most complete a preparatory module in health sciences.
Diploma
Successful completion of the Program will enable you to be awarded the degree in Master in Biological-Naturopathic Studies specializing in Acupuncture and / or Phytotherapy Chinese Tradition.
After successfully completing the Program, the student will receive the degree as awarded by the University where they have enrolled.
Program Structure
Regarding study time allocations it is established that:
- Being an Online Program and not being subjected to traditional class attendance, there is no established initial date so that the student can enroll at any time subject to available spaces.
- For academic and educational reasons a minimum Program attendance of at least twelve (12) months is required.
- The maximum time limit to complete the course is twenty four (24) months. During this period of time, the student must submit all corresponding course assignments.

Objectives
General Objectives
- To provide advanced knowledge in Naturopathic and traditional Chinese Medicine.
- To facilitate updated knowledge through new technologies of information and communications by means of a tutored learning process.
Specific Objectives
- To train specialists in Biological-Naturopathic Studies specializing in acupuncture and/or traditional Chinese herbs.
- To provide students with the necessary knowledge of the practical skills necessary to develop their expertise in acupuncture and/or traditional Chinese herbal medicine.
- To ensure a complete theoretical and applied training (workshops, practice, internship in TCM university hospitals of the People's Republic of China, etc.).
Study Plan
The curriculum of the Master's Degree in Biological-Naturopathic Studies specializing in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and Phytotherapy is organizad according to four (4) sequential areas.
- 1st PART: INTRODUCTORY (80 HOURS)

The last part of the Master's degree is designed to carry out the Final Project or an Internship in a hospital of the People's Republic of China or Cuba.
The Final project must contribuye to the field of study or to the relationship, both theoretical and applied among the related disciplines.
Regarding the Internship in a Hospital of the People's Republic of China or Cuba, several groups are formed per year, so students who choose this possibility should adjust their availability accordingly.
