Program Presentation
The "Associate degree in Health Humanization" organized by the Ibero-American University Foundation, the Madrid Center for Health Humanization and the Institute of Bioethics at the Finis Terrae University, seeks to implement educational methodologies aimed at reaffirming institutional processes in the public sector, through the training of health care providers. The overall aim is to improve the rates of quality care at the consumer´s level.
To be successful, it is crucial to work with everyday key players within a clinical setting, treating the patient/consumer as a unique person, so that they may participate -according to their ability and maturity- in the decisions pertaining to applicable medical treatments in an atmosphere of respect, esteem and shared responsibility.
Who is the programme for?
This program is designed those who have an intermediate level education, technicians, and professionals interested in learning more about the field of the Humanization of Healthcare.
Diploma
Successful completion of the Program will enable you to be awarded the degree in Humanization in Healthcare.
After successfully completing the Program, the student will receive the degree as awarded by the University where they have enrolled.
Program Structure
The estimated duration for completion of the Associate degree in Health Humanization is 6 months.
Regarding the distribution of time it is established that:
- Being a distance program and not subject to classes, a concrete start date is not set, so students may enroll at any time, provided there are spaces available.
- For academic reasons the program has a minimum duration of four months.
- The maximum time available for the program is six months. In this time period, the student must have successfully passed all assignments corresponding to the program.

Objectives
General Objective:
- To guide and strengthen “reflection-action” healthcare, based on the individual patient, consumer and borrower of health services, thereby contributing to the ongoing process of training in hospital and clinical settings, promoting the culture of life in a positive sense.
Specific Objectives:
- To open new horizons for the development and personal growth in the cognitive, affective and behavioral dimensions.
- To know, understand and assimilate anthropological bases that support the human being and humanization in the world of health.
- To know and understand the relationship model of aid as inspired by humanistic psychology.
- To relate, understand and assimilate the integration between the advances in biotechnology and the ethics of responsibility.
- To recognize and promote the specifics of family relationships in accompanying a patient during the life cycle, and particularly, in the final stages of life.
- To recognize and integrate the vocation of the healthcare team that contemplates supporting the family in the grieving process.
- To optimize healthcare performance through the implementation of effective processes of Leadership and Management in the clinical hospital setting.
- To detect the existing relationship and practical integration that exists among basic humanizing care, participants in the healthcare process, and the Units of Spiritual Accompaniment.

Upon approval of coursework, final exam and the FP, the student will obtain the certificate of: ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN HUMANIZATION OF HEALTHCARE.
The Diplomas will be awarded by the Finis Terrae University (Chile) under the sponsorship of the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER).
- 1st Part: Subjects.
There are 4 subjects, each of which includes discussion exercises, self-assessment and a closed question review.
The objective of this first part is to acquire the necessary knowledge about the humanization of healthcare to achieve personal growth in the cognitive, affective and behavioral dimensions that reveal, understand and assimilate the bases that support human beings and humanization in the world of healthcare.

- 2nd Part: Final Exam.
The final exam consists of a series of closed questions that test the course material from 4 subjects of the program.

- 3rd Part: Final Course Work.
The last part of the Associate degree is made up of of the Final Project. The purpose of FP is so that the student can develop a research project applied to any area of personal interest within the field of study of the program. The project should build on the teaching material provided making a contribution to the field.
