Systems of quality management are mostly based on the international standard UNE EN ISO 9001 or business excellence models such as the European EFQM.
These systems are abandoning the earlier concept of assurance, that is, to always do everything the same (good or bad), incorporating continuous improvement and placing customer satisfaction and corporate profits as the primary objectives for the evolution of the company.
From a practical approach, the Specialization of ISO 9001 represents an ideal solution for those suppliers who have the need to implement a system of quality management, either from customer requests or by complying with the legal regulations in the sector.
Who is the programme for?
The proposed methodology and a clear and diverse curriculum makes the ISO 9001 Program designed for people without an academic degree who wish to receive training in this field, as well as towards degree holders and professionals who wish to broaden their professional opportunities.
Diploma
Successful completion of the Program will enable you to be awarded the degree in Experto Universitario en ISO 9001.
After successfully completing the Program, the student will receive the degree as awarded by the University where they have enrolled.
Program Structure
The estimated length of the ISO 9001 program is of 100 hours (10 credits)1.
Regarding the distribution of time, it is established that:
- Being a distance program and not subject to classroom attendance, a concrete start date is not established, so the student can enroll at any time, provided there are spaces available.
- For academic reasons the program has a minimum duration of 1 month.
- The maximum amount of time to finish this program is 10 months. In this time, the student must have successfully completed the corresponding evaluation.

Objectives
General Objective:
- To lay the groundwork for the implementation of a Quality Management System in any type of business.
Specific objectives:
- To become familiar with the phases that are followed in the implementation of a Quality Management System in business, from the moment that the commitment by management is made public, until the auditing and certification phases.
- To learn to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to introduce and obtain the maximum performance from the Quality Management System, specifically those determined by the regulations of ISO 9001:2008.
- To learn how to develop a Quality Management manual and a Procedures Manual.
- To learn useful advice to successfully implement the Quality Management System and successfully pass the auditing.
- To create a conscious commitment towards “continuous improvement” that the company acquires when implementing a Quality Management System.
Career Opportunities
Some of the career opportunities of the ISO 9001 Specialization are:
- Responsible for the Quality Committee of the business for the institution of an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Consultant in topics referring to the ISO 9001.
- Teaching.
Study Plan
The ISO 9001 Specialization is composed of a module with 1 subject and 1 practical case study related to the field.
The module allows for the learning and comprehension, of, in the first place, the theoretical, conceptual and historical fundamentals involved in the Quality Management of business and, in the second, their organizational, social and technological implementation.
The objective is to ensure that the students acquire a global view of business from a quality management point of view.
